Installation and license

Install Easy SVG Pro, activate your license with your UnleashWP account, a code by email or a license key, and learn how updates and multisite work.

This guide takes you from the downloaded ZIP to an activated site that receives updates. It takes about five minutes.

Before you start

  • Easy SVG Support is installed and active. Pro is an add-on and needs it. See Installation.
  • Your site runs WordPress 6.6 or newer and PHP 8.2 or newer. Pro needs a newer PHP than the free plugin. Check under Tools → Site Health → Info → Server.
  • You bought Easy SVG Pro and can sign in to your UnleashWP account.
  • You are an administrator on the site.

Install the plugin

Download the ZIP

Sign in to your UnleashWP account and download the Easy SVG Pro ZIP. Do not unzip it. See Downloads and invoices if you cannot find it.

Upload it to WordPress

Go to Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP and click Install Now.

Activate it

Click Activate Plugin. In the plugin list, Easy SVG Pro now has two links: Icons and License.

If Easy SVG Support is missing or too old, a red notice at the top of wp-admin says so, and the Pro features stay off until it is fixed.

Activate your license

Go to Icons → License. You see the message "This site is not activated yet". There are three ways to activate. Use the one that suits you.

The quickest way. No password is typed on your site.

Open the sign-in window

Under With UnleashWP account, click Connect with UnleashWP. A small window opens.

Sign in and allow

Sign in to your account in that window and click Allow. If you cannot find the window, click Window not found? Open it again.

Pick the license

Back on your site, you see "Signed in. Now pick the license for this site." Each license shows how many sites it has in use, for example "1 of 3 sites in use". Click Activate this site.

When it worked, the screen says "This site is activated. The Pro features are on." Next, switch on the features you need under Icons → Features.

Set the key in wp-config.php instead

Agencies that deploy many sites can put the key into wp-config.php. The site then activates itself, and nobody has to open the License screen:

define( 'EASY_SVG_PRO_LICENSE_KEY', 'your-license-key' );

Add the line above /* That's all, stop editing! */. The License screen then says that a key is set in wp-config.php.

How the license works

  • The key is never stored in your database. It is sent once to activate the site. After that the site keeps a token that you can revoke from your account.
  • Updates arrive in WordPress. While the license is active, Pro updates appear under Dashboard → Updates like any other plugin update. See Updates are not showing if one is missing.
  • Multisite. One license covers the whole network. Network-activate the plugin.
  • Moving to a new site. Click Deactivate this site under License status to free the seat, then activate the new site.
